At the centre of any IT improvement initiative should be a process model that reflects the common understanding of how activities are grouped and what outcomes are to be achieved. Regardless of the purpose of the improvement effort (e.g. risk management, compliance, value delivery, process capability improvement, alignment with the business, resource optimisation, performance measurement, etc.) a process model helps with communicating the scope of each process and the outcomes expected. |
